Birthday

Ele sweetly invited Dave and I to her birthday brunch on Sunday (Mother’s Day). We went to Humble Pie. She had cute little seating cards for all of us and was dressed in her fabulous new dress. She’s such a cute girlie-girl!

It’s been ages since I had brunch at Humble Pie, and it was tasty! We had a really nice time. We got to talk with Will’s mom and her husband, Will and Ele, Will’s little sister, and Molly and Matthew. We couldn’t really hear the rest of the table. I enjoyed talking with Molly and Matthew, they seem like a sweet couple. I learned that Molly sometimes reads my blog, so a shout out to you, Molly! :)

Saturday night we celebrated Gene’s 80th birthday and the kitties 9th birthdays. Dave fixed his famous 5 layer lasagne. It’s 4″ deep! I help by making the sauce but he makes and assembles the rest. Dave also made a carrot cake in his new bundt pan. I made a chopped salad and some very tasty garlic bread.
We made Gene a jazz mix cd (what do you get someone who’s 80?!) and mom got some fun toys for the cats.

Saturday night was dinner out with mom & Gene to celebrate Dave’s birthday. Dave picked the 42nd Street Oyster Bar. We got an island at the oyster bar and ate ourselves silly!

Dave’s Birthday!

Dave turned 39 on Tuesday - Happy Birthday Dave!

He seemed to enjoy the presents I got for him: 2 books on growing/caring for Bonsai trees and a double CD of They Might Be Giants called Then. Dave’s not really into celebrating birthdays so it was a low-key affair. After we ate dinner, he opened presents then went out for beers with the guys.

I would like to point out that I used some very creative wrapping skills.

It’s hard to believe he’s 60. Makes me a little sad, because the older he gets, the chances that I get to meet and greet with him get ever smaller. *sigh*
