I too find it sorta funny but I think this is a perfect example of how much the times have changed. That people even write (type) letters anymore is a wonder. The wording seems fluffy and over-the-top, yes, but they say things that people just don’t say anymore, neighbor or not, and at a glance my tendency is to laugh since I use sentences like this when exercising sarcasm. But I can’t tell you one neighbor of mine that would be so kind and I can’t honestly say I feel that way about them either. No hard feelings of course, but no one is this neighborly anymore. Families aren’t even like this anymore. I heart these neighbors of Mom and Gene’s:)
