Meals & Food

Food, meals, etc.

Sunday morning was breakfast and then a few hours by the pool before meeting Mom and Gene at Fishmongers for a big lunch. Yummy!

We had several rounds of beers, several pounds of shrimp, a dozen steamed oysters and a dozen steamed clams, a pound of steamed crab claws, some broccoli, limas and corn, and two orders of onion rings. Mom and Gene and I each had two oyster shooters, which were quite tasty. Vince couldn’t be convinced to try one. 😉

Both Gene and Vince worked on this steamed oyster for 20 minute until they finally got the little cuss open. Gene said it was mighty tasty.

I skipped yoga tonight and met up with Kerri for dinner, back at Rudino’s Rooftop. Yum.

Sushi dinner – very yummy!!
Amy had a little gift of Neil Diamond goodies for me – I love Neil Diamond!
Amy also sweetly let me filch her music collection.
Another fabulous shot of Amy!

We got all cuted up for dinner tonight. Nah, not really. We always look this cute!

And I made time for an oyster shooter (with beer, not vodka).

Dinner was great, lots of steamed shrimp and steamed clams. And some beer. We really enjoyed ourselves!

Finally got home to visit with Eric and Amber after work. We chilled on the back porch, soaking up the sun and drinking.

Then dinner was a big grill-fest with Mom and Gene. We had tenderloins, white sweet potatoes, tomatoes, asparagus, marinated shrimp, and seviche. Along with lots of wine!! Our favorite was the BV Coastal Pinot Noir. YUM.

Yummy dinner at the Rockford, and drinks at the Hibernian afterwards.

Saturday afternoon we went to Artsplosure! It was a cute little art festival held in downtown Raleigh. I bought some earrings from a guy who makes them out of spoons, knives and forks. Fun!
And we saw this cool owl and hawk.
Then to the Flying Saucer for dinner, and to continue drinking.

And yeah, there were some Civil War reenactors there, so we got their picture with KerBear. 🙂

Ele sweetly invited Dave and I to her birthday brunch on Sunday (Mother’s Day). We went to Humble Pie. She had cute little seating cards for all of us and was dressed in her fabulous new dress. She’s such a cute girlie-girl!

It’s been ages since I had brunch at Humble Pie, and it was tasty! We had a really nice time. We got to talk with Will’s mom and her husband, Will and Ele, Will’s little sister, and Molly and Matthew. We couldn’t really hear the rest of the table. I enjoyed talking with Molly and Matthew, they seem like a sweet couple. I learned that Molly sometimes reads my blog, so a shout out to you, Molly! 🙂

Croutons!

Kerri, did you know that you you can skip the salad and just get the croutons at Lynnwood?

Thought it might make you happy!

Saturday night we met Belal for dinner at Afrah. Belal ordered for us, and we had this huge spread of food – I shoulda taken a picture but I was too busy eating. The food was amazing!
After dinner, we had Turkish coffee and smoked the hookah.
