Sushi dinner – very yummy!!
Amy had a little gift of Neil Diamond goodies for me – I love Neil Diamond!
Amy also sweetly let me filch her music collection.
Another fabulous shot of Amy!

Here’s Amy, fixing my new fabulous Bowie shirt that arrived with a few holes in the seams.
The three of us, ready to take on the day.
Given the opportunity to climb a rock wall, I always will.
Some fab art I picked up at the Virginia Highlands art festival. Sooo cute!
Amy’s glamour shot at dinner.

Some pics from Atlanta! Friday night we spent in, drinking and talking excessively. I love my girls.

Left a horrible day at work at noon. Had lunch with the honey, then to the airport.

Just got into Atlanta and stopped at the ghetto beer store for some lukewarm beer before heading back to Amy’s office so she can finish up some last minute work.

Welcome to Hotlanta, baby!
(Ever seen the ants in the Atlanta airport? They are so rad!)

Saturday morning Larry fixed these fabulous breakfast sandwiches – sausage, egg and cheese on a blueberry bagel. Yummy!!

Then it was off to Body Worlds for our 1:30 entrance. It was a very cool exhibit – we got to see all sorts of human bodies in various poses and different states of dissection, from muscles to organs. It was outta control and very interesting.

However, no photography allowed, so no pictures.

Then off to the Saucer for a “snack.” While there, I snapped a picture of Hiroe’s engagement ring – so beautiful!!
Then, we took a picture of this guy’s leprechaun shoes.
Friday night dinner was at Daddy Jacks – Larry and Hiroe and Dave and I met Grant and Michelle there. YUMMY! Really good seafood and fabulous service.

Then, it was off to see Wicked at Fair Park. Michelle was kind enough to drive us, and we all had uncomfortable shoes on so we valet parked. Once inside, we treated ourselves to champagne splits.

The show was awesome! It was really, really great! It was quite different from the book, but it was lovely. And Fiero is HOT!

We went to the Gingerman to visit the guys who were well into their beer drinking, but didn’t stay long. Instead of hanging out there, we stayed up late chatting. It was very nice.

I’m having a great time!

I got into Dallas around 1 PM and we went out for Mexican lunch – yay!!

Here’s the view from Larry and Hiroe‘s apartment. It’s located in a tony Turtle Creek neighborhood.
Tonight, Hiroe and Michelle and I are going to go see Wicked. I can’t wait, should be fun! The boys will be drinking like fish while we’re at the play. 🙂

And tomorrow we get to see BodyWorlds.

Here are my “arty” photos – I think these are pretty.

After breakfast at Ikea and three hours of shopping on Sunday morning, we visited the National Museum of the Marine Corps at Quantico. This museum is very new (2006) and is very beautiful. The exhibits are really well done, lots of ships and interesting things to look at.

I think that the exterior of the museum resembles the hoisting of the flag at Iwo Jima, in an abstract way. That’s what I thought the first time I glanced at the monument from the highway. If you get a chance to visit this museum, see it from the outside at night – it’s all lit up and beautiful!

Dave in the main gallery.
I thought this was a very moving piece.
This is the actual flag raised by the Marines at Iwo Jima – how cool is that??

After the boat trip, we walked around Q street and had a bite to eat and some beer at the Brickskeller.

We saw the White House.
We saw the Colombian Embassy.
We saw Q Street!
Tulips were blooming everywhere in the city!
