Closet Re-org

Friday was a day off for Dave and I. We had planned to work out in the yard all weekend, but several things came up to throw us off our game.

First, Tyra and Mike invited us to the Carolina Brewing Company for their free beer tour. How could we say no? Then, the weather turned cold and I said no to working outside in these temperatures.
Instead, we spent Friday cleaning out our bedroom closet. Dave found lots of stuff to give away, and so did I. We cleaned and reorganized the whole thing. I even moved my sweaters to the back of my closet. Here’s my shelf now:

In color order!!!!!! I do the SAME thing!

Isn’t it interesting how organizating the closet is such a personal thing? I separate my shirts by sleeve length and dressiness. Do you think we use different parts of our brains according to how we organize?

    Oooh, that’s very interesting!

I just changed my organization to this new scheme, which goes like this, left-to-right in color groups:
sleveless/tanks/dressy, short sleeved collarless, short sleeve collared, long sleeved collarless, long sleeved collared, shortsleeved sweaters, long sleeved sweaters.

But here’s how I used to do it, from left-to-right:
dressy items in color order, then all t-shirts in color order, then short sleeved collared, long sleeved collarless and long sleeved collared, all grouped together in color order, and then all sweaters in color order by weight (light to heavy).

Wow. Maybe that makes me a little insane…
