Cats

You are currently browsing the archive for the Cats category.

Mom and Dad have some kittens that are only a few months old. They are TEENY and so so adorable. Also, very rambunctious.

Here’s Gracie. She is so interested in everything. And takes every opportunity to scale people, either climbing right up your leg or jumping directly onto your chest. Crazy Gracie!

Here’s Gracie with her nails dug into my face. She seems obsessed with glasses and is always attacking them. Marmalade (a.k.a. Furball) is a few weeks older than the other two, and a little more shy. So very sweet, though, can’t you tell?
And then there’s Shadow, who reminds me so much of Cayce. Also very sweet, and not as crazy as Gracie.

Soft Paws

My Mom got pink softpaws for her cat, Sylvie. Super cute!!

Fraidy Cat

We had some big thunderclouds and loud claps of thunder roll in this evening. I watched Cayce belly crawl into the bedroom, but I assumed he was under the bed or in the closet.
In my old apartment in Dallas, he’d hide in the cupboard under the kitchen sink whenever he’d get frightened by loud noises.
Damn he is adorable.

Sylvie Louise

Or, as my mom calls her, Sillie Louie. 🙂 Isn’t she precious? She just turned 12!

Torturing the Cat

Dave has a new trick. He discovered that if you properly rub this cat toy into Cayce’s belly, it stays there. Hahahahahahahaha! He walks, it jingles, LOL!

Speaking of LOLCATS, have you checked out I Can Has Cheezburger?

Vacationing

Here’s Dad, being graced by Cayce’s presence while he naps.

Cayce’s Biopsy

Good news! Cayce’s tumor was a unusual microbacterial infection, not a cancerous tumor. Woot!

Chillin’ on the couch, watching the birds.

Look at Cayce’s little “chicken leg.” This is where they applied the pain patch, which he removed the first night.

Saturday night we celebrated Gene’s 80th birthday and the kitties 9th birthdays. Dave fixed his famous 5 layer lasagne. It’s 4″ deep! I help by making the sauce but he makes and assembles the rest. Dave also made a carrot cake in his new bundt pan. I made a chopped salad and some very tasty garlic bread.
We made Gene a jazz mix cd (what do you get someone who’s 80?!) and mom got some fun toys for the cats.

More surgery for Cayce

On Friday, Cayce went in for his annual dental cleaning. He had a lump on his back, between his shoulder blades, that appeared after his surgery in October. The doctor looked at it and decided it needed to come off. She ended up taking some discolored fat and “possible lymph node” with it. This, she explained, was why the incision was so long. All three specimens were sent off for biopsy.
